YOGA SADHANAS
Why Do We Practice?
In Eastern Traditions, concentration is a foundational practice. This is where we train our minds to hold and move a thought and where we cultivate the art of conscious denial — meaning, we develop the capacity to consciously choose what comes into our minds and what doesn’t. This is what makes us solid in who we are. Unwavering to life’s demands.
We live in a world where we are constantly being distracted and our prana (or life energy) is being drained and untamed through short reels, videos and the overstimulation of our senses.
Practice is the life training where we bring our senses back inward — away from the world — and start witnessing WHO WE ARE.. and it isn’t easy. This path takes a long time. It’s arduous but it is one of the most rewarding ways through because it’s just you and your mat. Getting free.
It’s from dedicated practice that we begin to see that we are so much bigger than what we’ve been programmed to believe. And from here, our life really begins.
Join us every Wednesday evening on Zoom … psst … it’s By-Donation/Pay What You Can :)
THE PATHWAYS
Lunar
Yoga for Ida Nadi
Using the power of the subtle body, these classes are specifically designed to ground us into our physical bodies, stabilize the mind and cultivate strong internal foundations.
This is the starting point in Hatha Yoga. It’s about correcting any imbalances within the emotional, mental and physical bodies BEFORE we start to build psychic energy (prana) to burn through the deeper karmic imprints that lie within the lower 3 centres of Self.
With consistent and dedicated practice, these classes help aid anxiety, digestion, circadian rhythm and work intimately with the parasympathetic nervous system — shifting us out of fight or flight and into a state of grounded awareness.
To be practiced any time of day/night
Solar
Yoga for Pingala Nadi
Using the power of the subtle body, these classes are about energy management and developing a deeper relationship to prana (energy that sustains all of life).
These are more dynamic than the lunar classes and help cultivate the sensitivity required to touch more subtle realms of reality while offering us the power to we need to live, accomplish and excel in life.
Solar classes help with inertia, procrastination, low energy/mood, motivation and overall sensitivity.
To be practiced mid morning/early afternoon
Incendiary
Yoga for Shushumna + Rudrani
Using Asana practice as the foundations, we work with all the elements of the Tantric path — Bandhas, Mudras and Mantras are all utilized to still the mind, cultivate energy and burn through limitations to call forth our dominant spiritual power.
These classes are all about the cultivation of “internal heat” centred in the navel. This is complimented by the conscious directing of Prana into the spine. The result is absorption into the higher spiritual centres — particularly the heart — where the individual soul resides,
This is the final stage of Hatha Yoga practice as it allows us to direct energy, burn up lower karma and live the highest version of who we are meant to be.
Intermediate Classes
To be practiced early/midmorning
Class is every Wednesday evening from 6:30pm-7:30pm on Zoom
*Please note: these classes are not exercise-based, fast paced or inferred. These classes are however rooted in the Spiritual Science of Traditional Hatha Yoga. Through the Tantric lens, we use poses (yoga asana) and breathing techniques (pranayama) to prepare us for meditation (kriya + silent meditation).
What People Are Saying
I am incredibly grateful that Bri began offering Traditional Yoga. Hatha is unlike any yoga I have experienced. It’s slower paced and focuses on specific breathing and a much smaller number of poses. It it is beginner friendly and excellent for people like me who have injuries or limitations. I have avoided yoga for many years because I was afraid that I wouldn't fit in with the typical yoga class or that I wouldn't be able to find an alternate move (which would cause embarrassment) but Bri is unbelievably patient, kind and supportive of alternatives moves to more challenging poses. Having finally taken the plunge, I have gained strength, flexibility and an inner peace that I did not think existed. I am able to centre myself and calm my mind which has given me the ability to take immense strides in my personal life, all thanks to this weekly practice. I love this style of yoga and I am so thankful for Bri bringing it to Mission. If you have ever considered yoga but were too nervous to try, this class is an excellent way to learn.
Thank you Bri for all you do for us and the healing community <3

For me-yoga is a gift. It is the way I centre my mind, body and spirit and is the one place I can be free to spend time on me, for me and within me. It is a universal connection shared by all those who are called to the practice. I am blessed to have a kind and gentle teacher like Bri — she is a wise and compassionate yogi who welcomes new comers and challenges seasoned practitioners.

I am eternally grateful to Bri for introducing me to this amazing style of yoga that is unlike ANY class I've ever done before.
I've never been so inspired and committed to a practice EVER!!! I absolutely love how it challenges both the mind and the body; I've never felt stronger in both.
Every asana is methodical and has a purpose and the way Bri guides you through provides so much meaning to what we are doing and why we are doing it. I always feel so complete after finishing one of her classes.
Quieting my mind has always been a massive struggle but I feel the more I commit to this practice, the closer I become to being more and more present in my mind and my body. The calculated combination of asanas and working with the breath is literally changing my life!!! My whole nervous system feels like it's been reset, and I feel so much more peace eternally. This practice is so incredibly powerful and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone that's interested in attaining that feeling of alignment, strength, and centeredness.
Thank you so much.
